Well, here we go again.  Seems they get younger and younger when they do things I, as a child, knew better not too.  Third graders, oldest being nine, planning on how to hurt a teacher they or one of them don't like.  If I had even thought of such a thing, I would not have been able to sit down for a week.  Not only did they think of it, they made plans to do it.  I know things have changed a lot since I was that age and I don't want to blame it all on games and movies kids can play and see, but I am sure that has something to do with it.  I think the biggest problem is we all try to live above our means.  I know famlies that both parents have to work in order to have that new car and big boat and big house.  Oh, and don't forget the kids new or almost new cars.  I still think if we scaled back our lives a little and tried to live our lives a little more simply it would help. Before I go any further, let me say I do not have any children, but I do remember growing up that my Mother always knew where I was and who I was with.  If I went some place I wasen't supposed to be, she knew about it before I got home.  This is because people knew their neighbors and didn't mind getting involved if they saw something they knew wasn't right with the children.  We didn't have a lot but we never went without food or shelter and I didn't buy my first car until after I joined the service.  Again, I know things have changed and it might be hard for people to live like we did when I was a child.  Parents seem to depend on the schools and other public organizations to raise their children.  The parents are too busy trying to make the money to keep up the life style they live.  Computers, cell phones and all the other electronic stuff seem to make our lives more complicated even though they were supposed to do the opposite.  I think if parents took charge of their children again and had those sit down suppers like we did and talk about what happened during the day it might help to know your children a little better.  I know this is not the only problem but we need to start some place.  I also know some are going to say I don't have a clue but I know things are getting out of control.

When the young see our elected officials lying, cheating, stealing, and killing to get their way the kids think it's okay. When the kids see the adults not doing anything about the elected criminals they believe that they( the adults) agree that it's okay. So in an effort to act like an adult the think lying, cheating, stealing, and killing is the right way to get things done. Monkey see,Monkey do. Check out this video.

Sorry linecrosser, as in a previous post I disagreed with you, once again, I differ with your reply. If parents are home, and involved with their child/children, they will be there to educate their offspring to know that what these adults they observe are doing wrong. I do have children, and apparently am raising mine "oldschool" as some would put it. I get some kudos and I get some "get with it and get in with the new times" Well, say what you want, I do what I can, and hope that someday my children will turn out to be upstanding citizens that do not turn out to live off the system, whichever way it may be, behind bars or on the welfare system. I do not work, we live off Navy pay (which some people know is not big time $$) We do not have frills or thrills, but we are happy and our children have mom at home. I don't go for the pointing fingers at video games and movies, etc either. It goes back to parenting. If you let them watch it or play it, you are to blame. (not you in particular line, just parents who allow that)

Oh I do agree with you on a individual basis. I was speaking in general terms, I have been limited by a disability and know how hard it is to get by today. And I think it was very good for my children. I can remember telling both of them "Don't ask me for anything, because I don't have it" They both started off with junker cars that required a lot of work. My son just traded in his Hummer for a 4Runner and my daughter drives a slighter older Jeep because she prefers to take several vacations a year. That's what happens when parents spend time with their kids. Without active parenting the children see entertainment, sports, political and business leaders as examples of success and are smart enough to see the questionable character behind the public face. I was only trying to be brief and express my to disgust for the way apathy about raising children and policing the government are related. Involvement in life has to be deeper than casing the dollar and falling prey to marketing schemes that teach spend spend spend. I agree with you and the current state of the government indicates we are racing as fast as we can to bringing the one world government to power and the anti-christ to power. The children should be warned about it.

Apparently, we have much in common, and unfortunately, blogging is much like e mails. You can't get the entire feel for what the other person is saying due to lack of emtion in the text. Thank You for helping me see more of what you meant. I am impressed by how much we actually think alike. It's too bad the Hampton Roads fox blog site isn't as active as the one here in KC. I moved from Hampton Roads back to the KC area which is home to me. I like to keep in touch with the HR area as I met and keep in touch with many great people back there. You should check out myfox4kc blogs. It can be real good, but sadly it can be real bad too. Have a great week! And forgive me for sounding brash if I came across that way.

Thank you. I did go to your board and was amazed at the level of activity. I love to get comments yet rarely do. Blogging has been very helpful in reducing my levels of stress. In the beginning I didn't even know if I was being read, I'm really ignorant when it comes to computers. Here in Tidewater I think I'm doing good having been read about 1500 times. KC seems to be ten times that active. And comments you get like ten per post or more, must be nice. myfoxhamptonroads seems to get a lot of political editing. They won't post anything on the public board about Ron Paul. And I don't think it get monitored everyday. You weren't brash, and even if you were that's what blogging is, speak your mind. Thanks again, God bless you.

Average guy tired of listening to politicians who are only in it for their own gain and security. I try to answer questions with a true answer as I do speak my mind on everything.
