You might be an Extremist -- Douglas ChickAre you far to the right, or far to the left? After listening to your favorite radio talk show host, are you convinced that the world in doomed? Does your religious organization speak more about your participation in politicians than God? Do you or your friends often speak of how the radical media controls the world? Do these questions anger you?

If you answered yes, you might be an extremist… :-)

I read that the school system in Pakistan is collapsing and this is of great concern. Why, because uneducated people are easily converted into terrorist? Can this also be true in other countries? Can a lack of formal education, verses religious education, move people towards extremist violent acts? In the book The History of Violence, if there were such a book, I think it might read, “…most organized acts of violent are committed by the followers of organized religious.”

I wonder, how many people I know in my daily life that feel the same passion to commit violence for their beliefs, as the terrorist do?

While religion has no doubt been the justification of mass murder in the past, and it no doubt plays a part in this terror crazed world today, I hesitate at using the term education. Terrorist are in fact very educated, even the simply are educated. They may only know how to plow a field or beg for money on a street corner but that's what they've been educated to do, survive. Violence comes from a sense of righteousness combined with impatience or flustered. You don't want to take the time to reeducate and have by divine province the right to kill. Christians are educated differently, now after the crusades and WW2. Defending is one thing, politics is another. I'm not sure where but I'm sure the Bible teaches not to be concerned with the goings on of the world. I always thought it strange when Christian leaders get involved with politics. Religion and politics have been the cause of most of the wars and the religion of politics of been the cause of all of them. Education in it's simplest form is why we here in America call a tree a tree and a computer a computer. The teaching of morals and ethics is how we use justification to condemn or condone our actions. History is often used as a tool to achieve a desire outcome which is why, he who writes history controls the future. To most of those in the middle east Americans are the terrorists. I'd like to think that most people our willing to kill and die for their beliefs. I just don't know what they believe and who taught them what to believe. I don't know at what point they will feel that violence is needed. We've been taught c

I got cut off again, that's what I get for being overstroked. We've been taught conflicting truths in America, if you don't like the government, get involved and change it,vote, and we've been taught "you can't fight city hall" The last belief was taught by politicians, who were voted in. Now city council meetings get shot up and metal detector are going up in Elizabeth city. What's the world coming to. I know, the anti-christ is right around the corner, the sooner the better because that will mean the real Christ is right around the corner also. Does that make me an extremist?
