     Now their taking about cutting farm subsidies because farm profits are up. Farmers profits are up because of the high price of food. The price of food is up because the price of fuel is up and people are stocking up on food before the price goes higher. The shortage of food is partly because were using more bio-fuels. Meat providers are paying more for feed and that's raising the price of meat. The oil companies are raking in record profits, and the law makers are ignoring the historical science of alternative fuels. 
      The petrochemical industries have turned their backs on a proven fix for decades and have managed to get laws passed to discourage they're development. We have been destroying the planet for the benefit of greedy oil companies who wield their power in almost every aspect of our lives. Medicine, education, farming. construction, clothing, pollution, finance, on and on.   
      The prohibition of alcohol had more to do with preventing a alternative fuel, than changing the social atmosphere around drinking. Yes, the moral fabric was used as the reason, but is ridiculous to think that after thousands of years of drinking that moral reasons would have been successful in passing laws by themselves. Especially when one considers how much lawmakers drink.  

    There are and have been alternatives for oil, and other unhealthy chemicals for years. However they won't be developed or even considered as long as this free country (yeah right) protects the wealthy corporations that contribute to the political process.
     The use of trees to make paper, wool and cotton for clothes, are some of the most expensive and polluting methods, and the products are of the lowest quality available. I can't mention the alternative here, but it's not because I fear the chemical industry. However maybe I should, They don't mind polluting the planet as long as it puts money in their pockets. 
     Anyway I think it's pretty obvious why things are done the way they are and it's not for the benefit of the masses or the protection of the planet. It's done for the benefit of the few with the help of this crooked government.
     If anyone was to do just the slightest research on their own instead of just blindly believing that the government really has an individuals best interest in mind over that of a wealthy contributors, I'm sorry I could go on for hours. But just realize that every America president that has ever been assassinated sincerely wanted to fix the economy.  Not give more power to the ones who print the money.
