The sky is raging, all the local stations have interrupted regular broadcasting. Wind sheer, lightning, different colors shade the radar indicating levels of rain, boxes and arrows show me where the immediate danger is and a clock in the corner tells me minute by minute where the storm will be. Another box in another corner warns me about hail and other information. My nerves and anxiety levels are at a peak, as colors I've never seem before show up on the screen and the announcer's voice picks up a pitch. Then BOOM. I lose power and the house shakes from a close by lightning strike. My house is dark, it's sooo loud. I grab my laptop and turn it on. I try to go on line and it's out also. I switch over to wifi and I pick up a signal and I'm successful at logging on. I quickly get into my bookmarks and find a local station, The home page of a local station comes on at I mouse on over to the weather tab. Instead of getting the information that would calm me down I get a screen requesting my personal information so that some third party can compile the provided info with other third party who will get with all the other third parties to send me personalized e-mail with offers from other third parties. All I wanted to know is if it was time to head for the flooded ditch. But now I'm going to find out that somebody somewhere has my shoe size on sale in a style I worn thirty years ago to the prom.
