      Kabul, Afghanistan the Taliban conducted a coordinated attack on a prison freeing over 800 prisoners, close to half of which were Taliban militants. Just the slightest thought towards this incident should make one pause. Questions form from all different angles. What was the prison like, Gitmo? What happen to the prison staff? How did they respond? Did some know in advance? Were there buses, and trucks waiting to help the militants flee or was it just a mad rush for the hills and caves? Were the UN forces notified quickly, and were they close enough to respond? Were the UN forces actively involved in helping guard the prison, whose population were almost fifty percent technically POWs? How many US and UN lives were lost jailing the combatants? How many more will be lost killing them or capturing them a second time? Are there other prisons that are subject to similar attacks and has their security been increased? Should this attack been anticipated?

     I don't know the answers, I hope I'm not the only one asking them. No matter how you feel about the way the prisoners in Gitmo, are being treated or if there rights(?) are being violated, or their questioning might not be done in a manner that is effective, or they're getting more free medical care than you can afford to buy. Your feelings while being important should be formed by some logic. I have problems controlling my emotions and consider that to be a plus, because it confirms and reenforces my feelings which I try as much as i can to form based on facts and logic. It creates a passion that drives my behavior. Whoa, that was just some personal ramblings, back to the topic. This incident shows how important it is to have POWs held outside of the battle zone. I don't agree with Bush defying the supreme court or for that matter most of his handling of, well most of everything. but Gitmo, needs changing not necessarily closed.
