Question.... now that In-Bev has bought out Anheiser-Busch, will they name the St. Louis stadium In-Bev Stadium rather than Busch Stadium? I am personally outraged and disgusted by this sale. It was nothing more than greed and if AB had of been in financial trouble or something, I could justify it. There was no reason for it. So much for an American icon. I will not support them in this. I will not buy any former AB or any future In-Bev product.

I was driving to work this morning and listening to KMZU (The Farm). I don't know if it was on Paul Harvey or the morning news (I was asleep as usual), but I heard some disturbing facts. Apparently, according to the news report, since 1980, 33 people in the U.S.have been injured, some seriously and maybe even killed from stoves tipping over. As I pondered these events, I couldn't help but think, "how the heck did that happen?" I mean, I have been around stoves all of my life and I am around mine on a daily basis and I have never yet had it tip over on me. So what are these morons doing to make it happen. I can only imagine that someone opens the oven door and stands on it to reach something in a cabinet above. In that case, I could justify how some moron should get hurt. And we are worried about 33 people in 28 years? I think those morons got what was coming to them. I hope they have a nice padded room. And no doubt, these people probably voted at one time. Thats how we end up with Presidents like Clinton & Bush. I guess stupid really is as stupid does.

Entertainment
Last night a friend and I went to the Bonefish Grill near Parkville for the first time. I was very pleased with the service and the food was very good although the entree could have been a little bigger for the price, but oh well. It was very good. We got a big laugh out of the server. I'm sure she was just doing her job but I have never had my drink selection (iced tea) be referred to as "lovely" or food being presented as "gorgeous". Well, of course, everything became these things and more as we dined. Like I said, the atmosphere and the food were great! I just got a huge laugh out of everything being lovely and gorgeous. LOL Is this the way all the servers are there? Has anyone else had this experience?

Did anyone hear the report that a local northland funeral home was "closed for remodeling" during the past couple of weeks. Under the disguise of "remodeling", (just more lies), they were actually mandated to be closed by the Missouri State Board for this period of time stemming from charges of unlicensed personnel and several other serious allegations. Of course, they didn't want the news media to know about it, but I think that the local consumers need to know who they are dealing with and that this particular organization is about as corrupt as can be. Also, several of their personnel received reprimands for their illegal activities, and some of them by the State Attorney General's Office. This is serious stuff folks!!! You have a right to be informed as to the truth. You might want to check into it.

I was appalled to learn that some of the Power and Light District businesses closed last evening after some of their employees allegedly complained that "they were tired". Well boo hoo! How long will it be until some of them are whining about lost revenues and incomes, etc? And whatever happened to being in the service business? I think it is beyond pathetic and a very poor excuse. I work in the service industry and have for 18 years. I don't have the luxury of being too tired to have my business open or not to answer the telephone, day or night. If I have to work a 20 hour day, get a couple hours of sleep and then go back to another full day, that is the way it is. I don't like it but again, I don't have that luxury and I think it is a crying shame for anyone in a service related business to make their business convenient for them. People are getting too soft these days. If businesses aren't available when I want or need them to be, I will take my money somewhere else to spend.

This is an FYI blog to alert consumers about things going on with some local funeral homes. Most funeral homes in Kansas City are owned by corporations. These are the ones being addressed, although it has to do with one certain corporation more than another. As consumers of funerals, the general public is being raped. I know. I've worked there and I'm ashamed of it. Not only are prices outrageous, but there is alot of illegal activity that has been going on. Several of them have been called before the Missouri State Board of Funeral Directors and some of them have even been summoned by the Missouri Attorney General's Office. These are serious allegations people. It only comes because of lies and fraudulent activities by these corporations. Your family may be working with some guy who is unlicensed and you wouldnt know it. Your loved one may be cremated by someone who isn't properly licensed to operate it. You may call their number to hear a "local" hocking their funeral services, but that "local" sold out to the corporation years ago and it is just a front, yet another lie. Who you are really doing business with is an office a thousand miles away. And let me tell you, they don't have your best interest at heart. Just try to transfer your pre-need to another funeral home and see what happens. Or ask if you can make payments on an at-need funeral. However, just as there are crooks & thieves in the business, not everyone is like that. There are some excellent people in the business who still care about people and are really serving families and meeting their needs. Most of the caring individuals and funeral homes are owned by independent families or business men who have nothing to do with the big corporations. If your family has a need, check with one of them first. And just because it's a big funeral home & looks real pretty doesn't mean that they will treat you fairly. You really have to check things out. The consumer information is out there. Oh, and don't expect to see this stuff in the headlines. They are paying their lawyers big bucks to try to keep it out of the media. But it is public information. You have a right to know. The media has been alerted, but it is doubtful they will follow up on it. It is something critical but may not be important enough for them to pass along to the general public, i.e., consumers. It will be interesting to hear about the experiences people have had.
