I am so frustrated about not having no home phone or Internet service at my new home. I am a first time home owner and I will be moving into my first home at the end of the month. In the meanwhile I am preparing for the move but there is a problem. I was reading the articles on the Virginia Pilot online when I came across an article about Remington Park (which is where I'm moving too). To my surprise the residents that are currently living there are complaining about not having home phone service, no Internet service, and poor cell phone signals. Now I was aware of this when I first visited the place back in April of this year with my real estate agent. When my husband and I questioned the real estate agent for the community about these services she assured us that by the time we move in that there will be service. Mind you this was in April. Now its is July and we are nearing our date to close but there is still no type of services and no one seems to know when it will be in place. I take classes online so this will effect my tremendously because I rely on the Internet for my classes. I don't understand why this problem has not been resolved. This is a dangerous thing because there are elderly people who live in this community. How in the world would anyone be able to call for help if there is an emergency without a home phone? Why haven't the city of Suffolk stepped in and handle this? People should not have to go without communication to the outside world and these builders who are responsible for this mess should be held accountable and pay more than the little 50 to 150 dollar refund that don't help the cost of the cell phone bill and wireless Internet card.
